Why inform BC Assessment?

Informing BC Assessment when you have moved is as important as notifying hydro, telephone, gas and post office officials. It ensures that you receive an Assessment Notice for the property you own. Owners who do not receive their notice soon after it is sent may not have time to appeal their property’s assessed value.

While only about three percent of all Assessment Notices are returned each year due to out-of-date addresses, they create some problems for both the owner and the tax authority — your local municipal office.
