The International Property Tax Institute (IPTI) is a not-for-profit organization with a mandate to advance and foster property taxation and assessment ideals on an international level. IPTI assists governments, organizations, corporations, taxpayers and professionals alike to better understand the complex issue of financing local governments, and in particular, the essential role property taxation has in this process.
IPTI, in co-operation with BC Assessment (BCA), is delivering Property Assessment and Taxation in Canada, a one-day workshop on the principles and challenges of property assessment and taxation. The objectives of the workshop are to explain the evolution of assessment and property taxation in Canada; identify the need for clear assessment and taxation policies; discuss issues associated with this form of taxation; stimulate discussion and offer possible solutions to the challenges faced by stakeholders today.
