Property Taxes
BC Assessment provides uniform, fair and independent property assessments to the people of British Columbia. Municipalities, Regional Districts, First Nations, and Improvement Districts (Taxing Authorities) then use this information to set their tax rates and determine property taxes.

Information Requests
BC Assessment places a great deal of emphasis on protecting the confidentiality of the information that has been entrusted to it. Some non-confidential information about a property owner's own property is available free of charge.
Property information, other than that requested by the property owner, is not available for public viewing and will not be released. Other information products are available for a fee. See BC Assessment's Fee Schedule for more information.
Representatives (agents and powers of attorney) acting on behalf of a property owner must present BC Assessment with the required authorization before confidential information is released. Please refer to

Collection Notice: Calling BC Assessment
When calling BC Assessment, personal information in the form of the telephone number from which you are calling will be collected under section 26 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act for the purpose of callback identification and customer support, except if your call is placed from an unlisted telephone number.
If your call is recorded, the conversation may be retained and used for customer service and training purposes. Any personal information you disclose will be collected under section 26 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
