BC Assessment is a provincial Crown corporation that classifies and values all real property in British Columbia. In January, as per the Assessment Act, every property owner in British Columbia receives their annual assessment notice from BC Assessment. Your assessment notice estimates the market value of your property as of July 1 of the previous year.
Our professional appraisers analyze sales in the local area, as well as the property's size, age, quality, condition, view and location. Using a single common date ensures your property's assessed value is fair, equitable and uniform compared to the other properties in your community and across British Columbia.
