BC Assessment Mobile Site

How does my property get valued?

BC Assessment estimates the value of most properties (e.g. homes) as of July 1 each year, based on market value. All property owners are mailed an Assessment Notice on December 31.

When estimating your property’s assessed value, an appraiser considers factors such as size, age, shape, quality, condition and location. Views, local services, supply and demand and current sales in the area may also influence your property’s value.
